Day by Day Privacy Policy

Day by Day Privacy Policy

Effective date: 30 August 2026

Day by Day is an Android application developed and published by MD FORHAD REZA (referred to as “Day by Day,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy). This Privacy Policy explains how the Day by Day app accesses, uses, stores, protects, transfers, and deletes user and device data.

Before publishing this policy, replace [INSERT PUBLIC SUPPORT EMAIL] with a working email address that users and Google Play reviewers can contact.

1. Overview

Day by Day is a personal routine, faith, study, exercise, sport, sleep, nutrition, hydration, donation, kindness, commitment, and reflection tracker. It is offered as a one-time paid download through Google Play.

The app does not require a separate Day by Day account. It does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs, does not sell personal information, and does not operate a developer-controlled server that receives users’ tracker records. Most information remains in the app’s private storage on the user’s device.

2. Information handled by the app

Depending on the features a user chooses to use, Day by Day may handle and store the following information:

This information is used only to provide the features the user selects, including recording entries, calculating scores and durations, showing history, scheduling reminders, calculating prayer times, creating exports, and restoring data.

3. Device permissions

Permission or capabilityHow it is used
Approximate or precise foreground locationUsed only when the user requests prayer times based on the current location. Day by Day does not request background location or track a user’s movement.
Notifications and vibrationUsed for optional reminders selected by the user.
Start after device restartUsed to restore locally configured reminders after a phone restart or relevant time change.
Internet accessUsed for optional Google Drive backup, Google authorization, and user-requested links to Google Play. The app does not use internet access for advertising or analytics.

Android runtime permissions are requested only when they are needed for a relevant feature. A user may deny or later revoke a permission in Android settings, although the related feature may then be unavailable.

4. Location information

If a user chooses current-location prayer times, Day by Day requests approximate or precise location while the app is in use. The result is used to calculate local prayer times. Coordinates may be stored in the app’s private local storage and may be included in a user-enabled protected backup. Users may avoid location access by selecting a city from the app’s offline city list.

Day by Day does not request background location, continuously monitor location, build movement profiles, or use location for advertising.

5. Optional Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup is optional. If a user chooses to connect it, Day by Day requests the limited drive.appdata permission. This allows the app to create and access only its own hidden app-data files in the selected Google Drive account. It does not give Day by Day access to the user’s ordinary Drive documents, photos, or unrelated files.

Backup and restore traffic travels directly between the app and Google. We do not operate a server that receives the backup contents. Google handles account authorization and may process basic account and authorization information under Google’s own privacy terms.

New Day by Day backups are protected using AES-256-GCM encryption. A separate recovery passphrase of at least eight characters protects recovery after reinstall. That passphrase is not the same as the four-digit app PIN, is not sent to us, and cannot be recovered by us. Scheduled backup also uses security provided by Android Keystore on the current device. Older legacy backups may require the four-digit PIN that was used when they were created.

Users can switch the connected Google account, disconnect or revoke Drive access, and permanently delete the Day by Day Drive backup using controls in the app. Disconnecting without selecting the delete option does not delete an existing remote backup.

6. Android backup and device transfer

If Android backup or device transfer is enabled on a user’s device, Android and the user’s platform account provider may copy supported private app data under their own terms. Day by Day’s configured backup rules exclude Drive credentials, backup cryptographic key material, recovery-passphrase material, selected-account information, and unfinished activity, bedtime, or nap timers. Availability and encryption depend on the Android version, device, and account settings.

7. PDF export, printing, and sharing

History PDFs are generated locally on the device for the dates and sections chosen by the user. A temporary copy may remain in the app’s private cache. Saving, printing, or sharing a PDF is initiated by the user through Android. Once the user sends or saves a PDF to another app, device, cloud provider, printer, or person, that recipient handles it under its own privacy practices. Users should treat exported history PDFs as sensitive personal information.

8. Notifications

Optional reminders are scheduled and processed locally. Day by Day does not use a remote advertising or analytics service to deliver reminders. Android may delay reminders because of battery optimisation, Doze mode, or manufacturer power-management settings.

9. Paid download and payment information

Google Play processes the one-time purchase and download of Day by Day. Google applies its own payment, refund, licensing, compatible-device, and Family Library rules. Day by Day and MD FORHAD REZA do not receive a user’s card number, banking details, or Google password.

The app has no subscription, automatic renewal, free trial, separate paid-access account, or lifetime in-app purchase.

10. Advertising, analytics, sale, and sharing of data

Day by Day does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal or sensitive user data. We do not share tracker records with advertisers or data brokers.

Data may leave the device only when the user enables or initiates a relevant feature, such as Google Drive backup, Android backup or device transfer, opening a Google service, or exporting, printing, saving, or sharing a PDF. Google and any destination selected by the user process that information under their own policies.

11. Data retention and deletion

Because Day by Day does not create a separate developer-controlled user account and we do not receive users’ tracker records, we cannot remotely view, retrieve, change, or delete records stored on a user’s device or in the user’s private Google Drive account. Users control deletion using the app, Android settings, and their Google account.

12. Data security

Day by Day uses Android private app storage, protected backup formats, encrypted Google Drive backups, screenshot protection enabled by default, and a locally protected and throttled PIN. Network connections use encrypted HTTPS, and cleartext network traffic is disabled.

No security system is perfect. The four-digit app PIN has only 10,000 possible combinations and is intended as a convenience privacy lock, not a replacement for a strong phone passcode. Users should protect their phone, Google account, exported PDFs, and Drive recovery passphrase.

13. Health, sleep, activity, and nutrition information

Sleep and nap entries are times manually entered or recorded by the user. Day by Day calculates time in bed but does not use a microphone, wearable device, Health Connect, or sleep sensor and does not measure sleep stages or sleep quality.

Information concerning food, calories, protein, hydration, activity, exercise, and sleep is provided only for general wellbeing and personal tracking. Day by Day is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Users should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional for personal medical or dietary guidance.

14. Children’s privacy

Day by Day is intended for adults aged 18 years and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly operate a service intended to collect children’s personal information. If the app’s declared target audience changes in the future, this policy and the app’s Google Play declarations will be reviewed and updated before that change is released.

15. Third-party services

Day by Day may interact with Google Play, Google Identity, Google Drive, Android backup and device-transfer services, and Android operating-system features. These third parties process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, data practices, third-party services, legal requirements, or Google Play requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate method where required.
